The Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) Specification defines the interface between the Radio Equipment Control (REC) and the Radio Equipment (RE) of radio base stations.

• The Specification covers Layers 1 and 2 of the OSI stack
• A digital serial interface between 'Radio Equipment Control' (REC) and 'Radio Equipment' (RE)
• Electrical and optical interfaces
• Complies with 3GPP UTRA FDD release 5
