LTE

The long term evolution (LTE) project is currently underway within 3GPP and is one of the 4G network technologies. The output of this will be Release 8 of the UMTS standard.

• So-called fourth generation 4G wireless
• based upon TCP/IP
• Includes EPS (Evolved Packet System), E-UTRAN (Evolved UTRAN) and EPC (Evolved Packet Core)
