An SFP module is a compact, hot-pluggable, module with an optical transceiver supporting data communication of very high speed serial data. SFP stands for small form-factor pluggable and is defined by a multi source agreement (MSA - see below). This interface allows the CommAgility product to support CPRI, OBSAI, Ethernet and other fibre (fiber) based media infrastructures.
- Modules support data rates up to 8.5g baud
- Encomasses 614.4, 768, 1228.8, 2457.6, 3072 megabaud
- Used in CPRI RE or REC and OBSAI BTS or RFM equipment
- Multi-mode or Single-mode mode fibre (fiber) modules available
- Copper interface modules also available
- Hot Pluggable
- Managed over a Digital Diagnostic Interface (I2C bus)
