Loughborough, UK, 24th September 2013 - In the prestigious Elektra awards, CommAgility's AMC-RF2x2 RF module has been shortlisted as one of the six best wireless/RF products of the year.

The awards are organised by the UK magazine Electronics Weekly, and the winners will be announced at an event in London in November. Also known as the European Electronics Industry Awards, the Elektras are in their 11th year.

The AMC-RF2x2 is a flexible, high performance RF module in the Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) form factor. The module provides a high quality RF interface for LTE and LTE Advanced wireless infrastructure applications, and is suitable for test equipment, research, demonstrators and trial systems.

The current design, first introduced in Q1 2013, builds on earlier prototypes with an improved analogue front end, optional Serial RapidIO (SRIO) interface, RF power control and comprehensive self-calibration.

A panel of independent judges selected the nominees. The judges included Steve Furber, Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Manchester; Adam Fletcher, chairman of the Electronic Components Supply Network; Derek Boyd, CEO of the National Microelectronics Institute; Markus Levy, president of the Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC); Marco Pisano, programme manager at Intellect; and Jon Howes, technology director at Beecham Research.
